Accounting Manager – Commercial Real Estate
A commercial Real Estate firm located in Boston is looking to bring on an Accounting Manager to their growing team. As the Accounting Manager, you will report up to the VP and Senior VP and be responsible for a portfolio of commercial properties. We are seeking candidates with strong property accounting experience within commercial real estate.
Responsibilities:
- All property level accounting, including the following;
- Work with 3rd party property teams
- Rent rolls and lease maintenance
- Cash management, weekly check fundings
- Financial reports, annual budgets
- Tax basis amortization and depreciation calculations, review/approve operation, and tax escalations
- Loan compliance
- Audit support
- Joint Venture Accounting;
- Prepare financial reporting on a consolidation or combined level, including audited financial statements with footnotes
- Cash management including capital calls and distributions
- Calculate/process management fees
- Calculate income allocations including waterfalls
- Acquisitions;
- Review settlement statements; prorations and buyer/ seller credits
- Review estoppels
- Record opening entries
- Monitor al post-closing activity for true up with seller
- Onboard properties and train 3rd party teams on the firm’s financial standards and reporting
- Dispositions;
- Wok with Disposition team to respond to buyer diligence requests
- Prepare prorations
- Prepare and record closing entries including gain/loss calculation
Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree in accounting
- 5 years of property accounting experience, 2 years within a management role
- Experience with Funds and Joint Ventures
- Understanding of waterfall calculations
- Detail oriented, ability to handle multiple tasks at once
