Quality Inspector
Our client, a global biomedical company focused on the development and commercialization of blood management products, is currently seeking a Quality Inspector to join their state-of-art facility in Pittsburgh. This person will be responsible for all approved inspection procedures and tests that confirm daily manufacturing and quality requirements are met, and auditing each production line to assure manufacturing personnel and operations are in compliance with approved procedures. This is a 3-month contract position with the potential to extend and/or convert to permanent. Hours are Monday through Friday, 7am-330pm or 1030pm-7am.
Responsibilities:

Accept and/or reject inspected material/parts in accordance with quality control standards and engineering drawings.

Performs inspections in accordance with the established Quality Control sampling plan.

Accurately and promptly fill out required forms and paperwork documenting inspection and audit functions.

Assist in auditing Product History Records and other current documentation as required.

Perform mechanical and visual inspections using measuring instruments such as calipers, veneers, micrometers, height gauges, indicators, optical comparator, optical flats and profilometers.

Proactively respond to requests from manufacturing to help understand and resolve quality issues.

Review safety issues regarding all inspection equipment and fixturing. Recommend and implement improvements to ensure a safe workplace. Ensure all new inspection equipment has proper safety guarding.

Complete the inspections and necessary paperwork for protocol testing and other evaluation work.

Comply with all GMPs, SOPs, MI’s and SIs during the course of the workday.

Work with Manufacturing in identifying non-conforming products and ensure that it is documented on NCMR.
Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent, required.

Prior experience performing quality functions such as physical inspections, testing, or documentation quality required, preferred in manufacturing.

Prior experience in the medical device industry is preferred.
