Payroll Specialist – Boca Raton – Total Comp up to $115k 

We are looking for a Payroll Specialist for a prestigious investment management firm in Boca Raton. This role involves overseeing day-to-day accounting activities, including payroll management, accounts receivable, accounts payable, complex compensation structures, 401(k) plans, treasury and cash management, and various finance-related projects.

You will work closely with the Finance Manager and team members to enhance automation and effectively manage the accounting functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee bi-weekly payroll administration for both U.S. and international employees, including calculating pay for new hires and terminating employees, as well as managing related benefit deductions.
  • Coordinate family leave benefits across various states and handle taxable fringe benefits.
  • Manage the annual W-2 process for U.S.-based employees and the P-11D process for U.K.-based employees.
  • Register for payroll tax IDs in new states and update the payroll system (UKG) accordingly.
  • Propose enhancements to payroll processes and procedures to ensure robust internal controls within the Finance Department.
  • Manage relationships with various employee benefit vendors.
  • Assist with bi-weekly accounts payable activities, from invoice receipt to payment processing, including oversight of employee expense reimbursements via Concur (a third-party travel and expense application).
  • Support daily accounting functions related to firm-wide revenues and expenses, including client management fees, fund expenses, and corporate costs, while ensuring compliance with GAAP accounting and reporting requirements across a multi-entity structure.
  • Contribute to month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes and reporting.
  • Participate in the annual year-end audit for the Company.
  • Ensure the accuracy and quality of financial transactions and reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5 years + of experience as a payroll and benefits administrator/manager, with a solid foundation in general accounting.
  • CPA certification desired but not required
