Logistics Manager – New York, NY – Manufacturing
Our team is currently seeking candidates for a Logistics Manager position located in New York, NY 10104. The position is with a rapidly growing manufacturing company. This role involves coordinating the shipment of large equipment, ensuring seamless communication between the factory, freight forwarders, transport companies, and end customers. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of Logistics and Freight Management experience.
Key Responsibilities:

Shipping Coordination: Oversee the shipping of approximately 250 containers annually from Europe to the USA and Canada, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.

Transport Management: Coordinate the movement of equipment, some weighing up to 30,000 lbs, via ground transport to end customers.

Stakeholder Communication: Maintain effective communication between the factory, freight forwarders, transport companies, and customers to ensure smooth operations and resolve any issues that arise.

Customs Compliance: Ensure all shipments comply with international shipping regulations and customs requirements for both Italy and North America.

Logistics Optimization: Identify opportunities to improve logistics efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance delivery performance.

Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels to ensure timely availability of products and manage warehouse operations as needed.

Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate shipping documentation and provide regular reports on logistics performance and KPIs.

Problem Resolution: Address and resolve any logistical issues, delays, or discrepancies that may arise during the shipping process.

Vendor Management: Develop and maintain relationships with freight forwarders, transport companies, and other logistics service providers.
Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

5+ years of experience in logistics management, preferably with international shipping and heavy equipment handling.

Strong understanding of international shipping regulations and customs procedures.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills to manage relationships with various stakeholders.

Proficiency in logistics software and tools.

Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
