IT Business Analyst Manager- Capital Markets Technology (Boston/hybrid)
Our client is a Boston based Investment Management Firm that is seeking a highly motivated and experienced IT Business Analyst Manager to join their team. This position will be working directly with the Capital Markets Technology team, supporting the Fixed Income (Credit), Special Situations, Public Equity, and Partnership Strategies lines of business.
What you will be doing:
We are seeking an experienced IT Business Analyst Manager to lead a team of Business Analysts responsible for delivering high-quality software solutions to support our investment management operations. This individual will work closely with the business stakeholders and application developers to provide solutions supporting front-office and back-office platforms. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, exceptional communication skills, and a deep understanding of investment management systems and processes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and manage a team of Business Analysts responsible for requirements gathering, documentation, and testing of software solutions to support investment management operations.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, developers, and other IT team members to ensure software solutions meet business requirements and are delivered on time and within budget.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key business stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure software solutions align with business goals.
- Act as a subject matter expert for investment management systems and processes, providing guidance to the IT team and business stakeholders as needed.
- Identify opportunities to improve existing systems and processes, and work with the IT team to implement solutions.
- Ensure adherence to best practices for software development, including requirements gathering, documentation, testing, and project management.
- Manage and prioritize team workload and provide coaching and development opportunities to team members.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in IT business analysis, preferably in a buy side asset management firm, with a strong understanding of fund accounting and investment operations.
- 2+ years of experience managing a team of Business Analysts.
- In-depth knowledge of fixed income domain, including bonds and bank loans, and experience working with related investment management systems.
- Familiarity with fund accounting processes, including NAV calculations, reconciliation, and performance reporting.
- Familiarity with platforms in the credit and alternative asset management space such as Allvue Everest, Advent Geneva, Markit WSO, or a similar platform.
- Experience managing third-party data providers, data vendors, and data integration.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven experience working with Agile/Scrum methodologies and project management best practices.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team, and to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to prioritize shifting workloads in a rapidly changing industry and a dynamic organization.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to understand complex business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Proficient in using business analysis tools and techniques, such as process modeling, data modeling, and requirements documentation.
- Knowledge of data management principles and experience with data analysis and data mapping in the context of investment management systems.
- Proficient with SQL for ad-hoc queries and data analysis. Exposure with BI solutions such as Power BI and/or Tableau is a huge plus.
- Expert with Excel for data analysis, including modeling and complex lookups.
- Working knowledge of Python, dbt, and cloud databases such as Redshift or Snowflake is a huge plus.
