Instructional Designer – Learning & Development – Boston, MA
We are currently seeking candidates for an Instructional Designer to join a highly successful Athletics Apparel Manufacturer located in Boston, MA. The Instructional Designer will drive the design and development of engaging and effective eLearning Content and Curriculum, and will support employee collaboration and engagement. The ideal candidate will have 5-7+ years of instructional design experience supporting HR learning and development goals and initiatives.
This is a 6-12+ month contract opportunity, paying between $55-$65/hour (depending on experience). This position will be required to be onsite 3 days/wk.
Responsibilities:
- Drive the design and development of engaging and effective eLearning Content and Curriculum
- Perform detailed analysis of learning programs with respect to external best practices, employee engagement, internal business needs, and program effectiveness
- Utilize strong working knowledge of design platforms and systems, learning management systems (LMS), and adult learning theory
- Manage and evaluate project timelines, project progress, and project needs
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to understand business needs and learning objectives
- Create learning content independently by highlighting and aligning to adult learning theory, human centered design, and instructional design
- Develop best-in-class eLearning solutions, and generate learner facing materials such as job aids, case studies, videos, and content materials that support effective learning experiences and brand look and feel
- Deliver best-in-class materials and experiences to prepare managers to lead and coach employees to expand on high impact learning
- Evaluate learning effectiveness through passive and active data analysis and surveying, and recommend actions based on the data findings
- Leverage program data and performance results to align with stakeholders and iterate on programming as needed
- Provide thought partnership to business leaders on learning strategies supporting employee development
Qualifications:
- BS or MA degree in instructional design or equivalent
- 5-7+ years of instructional design experience supporting learning and development goals and initiatives
- Strong understanding of adult learning theory
- Clear passion for optimizing learning technology to deliver optimal employee engagement
- Experience developing effective digital multimodality learning experiences leveraging gamification, scenario-based learning, assessments and interactivity
- Experience in graphic design and video editing
- Ability to promote and maintain brand standards and image
- Experience with course design and editing (e.g., Articulate 360 (Rise and Storyline), Vyond, Adobe Suite or equivalent)
- Experience with website design and editing (e.g., SharePoint)
- Experience with video technology and editing (e.g., Camtasia)
- Solid knowledge of working with a Learning Management System (e.g., Workday Learn)
- Successful experience as a project manager to provide guidance to course development activities
- Excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
