Funds FP&A Associate – Boston, MA – Business Development Company (BDC)
Our team is working with a leading venture focused BDC fund in Boston to hire a Funds FP&A Associate to their growing team. The Fund FP&A Associate will be responsible for modeling new fund products, supporting debt raises, tracking key Fund metrics, and working closely with the Director of Corporate Development in preparing and maintaining marketing materials for the Funds.
Essential Responsibilities:

Develop and prepare private fund models (closed and open) for use in marketing to prospective investors and raising debt capital from banks and institutional investors.

Provide full analytical support of internal private fund performance forecasts which are used to plan capital and leverage raise needs, project tax exposures and filing requirements, and provide guidance to our investors on expected returns.

Analyze fund performance and capital needs to help Fund Manager and Fund Controller identify future capital needs.

Lead and own the calculation of and compilation of key internal performance measures, external performance reports, and loan data tapes for the Adviser Funds. This will require close coordination with the Adviser Fund accounting team.

Assist Fund Manager and Fund Controller in responding to questions regarding fund performance, including investigating performance drivers and differences between products.

Prepare and monitor the corporate RIA financial forecast model, which is used to project dividends, forecast taxes, and plan capital needs.

Support Tax Senior Manager with any additional information or forecasts needed for tax filings, tax structuring analysis, and transfer pricing analysis.

Support the Director of Corporate Development with preparation of data & deliverables for investor materials, investor decks, investor data requests, DDQs, and any ad hoc reporting needs.

Coordinate and streamline investor onboarding with external counsel and fund administrator; act as key owner of investor information collection; oversee and modify investor access permissions for investor applications.
Qualifications:

4-7 Years of experience in financial modeling and analysis of RIAs and private alternative funds strongly preferred, but not required to have experience with both.

B.S. or B.A. degree & understanding of Microsoft Office applications required.

CPA (full or parts of exam passed), or advanced degree in Finance or Accounting is preferred.

Systems: Strong Excel (vl, pt, xl, VBA, power query, index matching) and PowerPoint required. Familiarity with

Domo/Tableau and a CRM system, a plus.

Articulate and analytical, ability to not only build models but work with the data to find trends, patterns, and correlations, in addition to investigating anomalies and questioning the trends.

Strong understanding of private fund reporting metrics and understanding of US GAAP.
