Facilities Maintenance Technician
Our client, a global hematology device company is currently seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to join their state-of-the-art facility. This person will be responsible for repairing and maintaining assigned facilities-related equipment and utilities using standard procedures, internal requirements, manufacturer’s specifications, and safety policies.
Responsibilities:

Operate, maintain, and care for building plant and equipment.

Perform in-house preventive maintenance activities for the company assets.

Maintain accurate records in accordance with Good Documentation Practices.

Be available for off-hours, on-call, and building rounds (facility & equipment checks) periodically.

Schedule, coordinate, and oversee outside vendors’ work to company standards.

Utilize the company’s Computerized Maintenance Management System (PMC) to initiate, perform, and close out Work-Orders.

Responsible for efficient and reliable operations of the facilities plant, utility equipment, and systems in a compliant and safe manner.

Facilitate continuous improvement and development of maintenance practices and procedures.

Ensure and enforce the safe performance of all repairs, maintenance, and project activities.

Provide support to quality systems, process improvements, and project implementation.

Ensure plant and utility equipment availability to meet production needs.

Respond to plant and equipment processes, security alarms, and failures to address issues and perform corrective actions.

Comply with corporate and site policies, practices, and procedures.

Respond promptly to internal customer needs; respond to requests for service and assistance; meet commitments in a timely manner.

Observe safety and security procedures; report potentially unsafe conditions; use equipment and materials properly.
Qualifications:
-
High school diploma or equivalent required.

Coursework or specialized training in plumbing/electrical/mechanical systems required.

5+ years of facility maintenance and troubleshooting of critical utilities and equipment, required. (Water systems, Compressed Air, HVAC/Compressors, Boilers, Copper/PVC/Stainless Steel Plumbing, Electrical systems, Misc. Construction, Welding, etc.)

Experience with and/or being trained and certified on lock-out tag-out procedures, dissipation of hazardous energies, energy control procedures, fall protection, forklift operation, hazardous material, chemical management, etc, preferred.

Ability to read blueprints, electrical and mechanical diagrams, and shop drawings and use AutoCAD (preferred, not required).

Basic MS Office skills – Outlook, Word, and Excel, required.

Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work from verbal and written instructions.
