Corporate Staff Accountant- Financial Services- Boston, MA
We are seeking candidates for a Corporate Staff Accountant position with an industry-leading financial services located in Boston, MA 02110. This position will report to the Corporate Accounting Manager and will be responsible for recording management fees, distribution fees, expense limits and performance fees for the firm’s retail funds. The ideal candidate will have 1+ years of corporate accounting experience.
This is a 4-month contract to hire opportunity, that will pay $35-40/hr within a 40-hour work week.
Responsibilities:
- Record all entries related to retail fund-related revenue
- Coordinate with FP&A, Fund Administration, Client Service, and Legal to understand new products or changes to existing products
- Maintain receivables tracking and prepare invoices as necessary
- Prepare and review of analytics used in monthly reporting process
- Assist Management with any special projects, information requests, external year-end audits requests that are received by Corporate Accounting, Financial Reporting, Business divisions and external auditors
- Complete work associated with the month-end close process. Ensure that all items are entered into SAP in a timely fashion. Review for any unusual fluctuations and investigate and explain these fluctuations and perform account reconciliations
- Work closely with the Corporate Accounting Supervisor and Finance Systems Group to provide General ledger support to the Corporate Accounting and Financial Reporting teams
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- 1+ years of experience in corporate accounting
- Strong technical skills (i.e., MS Office, Excel, SAP)
- Technical accounting knowledge, ability to settle appropriate accounting treatment of new transaction types, financial services industry experience is a plus
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to effectively interact with all levels of management
- Strong understanding of IFRS is a plus
- Team player: willingness to work hard and contribute to achievement of team goals
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, and ability to work in a deadline-oriented environment
