Corporate Controller – Rexford NY – Construction

Our team is working with a leading electrical contractor located in Schenectady County looking to hire a Corporate Controller to their growing team. The Controller will oversee all accounting and financial activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. This key leadership role involves supporting strategic decision-making, and driving continuous improvement in financial processes.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.

  • Prepare, analyze, and present accurate and timely financial statements and reports to senior management.

  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial planning processes.

  • Maintain compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.

  • Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

  • Lead internal and external audits and ensure all financial records are audit-ready.

  • Establish and enforce robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.

  • Monitor cash flow, manage banking relationships, and ensure effective treasury operations.

  • Collaborate with executive leadership to provide insights and recommendations for financial strategy and decision-making.

  • Implement and optimize accounting systems and processes to increase efficiency

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred).

  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting and financial management experience.

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., ComputerEase, QuickBooks, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.

  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to manage, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience in construction is a plus.
