Controller/CFO
A well-established private secondary school located in Boston is seeking an experienced accounting and finance professional to lead their finance department as a Controller/CFO. This position will be responsible for leading all aspects of accounting and finance operations for the school and regularly present financial reports to the board of directors. The school is willing to pay up to $175k plus benefits.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Manage and oversee all accounting and financial operations for the school including: accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, payroll, purchasing, tax compliance, treasury, and financial reporting

Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process

Run the external reporting process to various key stakeholders (School Board, Head of School, Foundation, and banking liaisons)

Serve as the primary point of contact for two annual financial audits

Direct the annual budget process and oversee all investments for the school

Oversee the coordination of all required tax filings and maintain a system of controls to ensure the safety of the schools assets

Lead, train, and organize the schools internal finance and accounting department
Qualifications:

5+ years of accounting and finance experience, preferably in a school or non-profit setting

Prior leadership or managerial experience within a non-profit or school finance setting preferred

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required

Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred

CPA preferred
