Controller – Food and Beverage Distributor – White Plains, NY 10605
The Controller will oversee all financial operations, including accounting, financial planning, analysis, budgeting, and compliance. This role is critical in ensuring the financial health and operational efficiency of the company. The Controller will manage a team of 8 direct and indirect reports and will be responsible for implementing and maintaining robust financial systems and controls. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the wholesale and distribution industry, strong leadership skills, and expertise with Microsoft Dynamics ERP (preferred).
This is full-time permanent position that will pay up to $200,000 base salary plus a competitive bonus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company’s growth objectives.
- Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to the CEO and executive team.
- Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes to ensure alignment with business goals.
- Oversee all accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, and tax compliance.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and capital expenditure processes to optimize the company’s financial performance.
- Lead the management and optimization of the Microsoft Dynamics ERP system, ensuring it meets the company’s financial and operational needs.
- Work closely with IT and operations teams to enhance system functionality and reporting capabilities.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local financial regulations and reporting requirements.
- Manage external audits and maintain relationships with auditors, banks, and other financial institutions.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks to protect the company’s assets and reputation.
- Provide financial analysis and support for pricing strategies, contract negotiations, and supply chain management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA required
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the food and beverage distribution industry.
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Dynamics ERP system.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing financial strategies in a $100M+ company.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners.
- High level of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail.
