Chief Financial Officer – Union City, NJ – Manufacturing Consumer Goods Company
A privately held consumer products company located in Union City, NJ is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to join its leadership team. The company operates a vertically integrated model across design, manufacturing, and distribution, with a strong reputation and long-standing customer relationships. This is a high-impact role for a hands-on finance leader.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and leadership team,
- Oversee all aspects of accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning
- Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital
- Oversee inventory accounting and cost accounting, partnering closely with operations to improve margins
- Maintain relationships with lenders, including oversight of credit facilities and borrowing-base reporting
- Partner with sales and operations on pricing, profitability, and retailer-related deductions/chargebacks
- Build and lead a high-performing finance team while enhancing systems and processes
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred
- 12+ years of progressive finance experience, including senior leadership experience
- Background in manufacturing, consumer products, wholesale/retail, or other inventory-heavy environments
- Strong expertise in inventory, cost accounting, and working capital management
- Experience managing lender relationships and debt facilities
- Proven ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution
- Strong communication and business partnering skills
