Business Analyst – Investment Management
We are currently conducting a search for a client who is a Boston-based investment manager with a long-term, value-oriented approach for a Business Analyst. This Business Analyst will be responsible for participating in the planning and implementation of technology solutions for the Investor Services team, providing IT support for up and downstream processes and systems. This role is a hybrid role, on-site two days per week.
Responsibilities:
- Support data and reporting needs for other teams involved in the investor operations area.
- Develop a solid understanding of the business functions of the business lines supported.
- Create and maintain technology backlogs ensuring the plan and priorities align with the business unit’s objectives.
- Facilitate working sessions and collaborate with business managers and end-users to elicit business requirements.
- Communicate business requirements, including summaries of current business processes, use-cases, data flow diagrams, data mapping and wire frame mock-ups.
- Work with the software engineering team to evaluate and create solutions.
- Coordinate with vendors on upgrades, enhancements, and due diligence.
- Produce scope documents, business cases and project plans.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 4-8 years overall experience, including experience in business / systems analysis and project management roles; preferably in the financial services or financial technology industry supporting transfer agency function.
- Background in the following areas is a plus: reporting systems & tools including data marts and data warehouses.
- Experience with SDLC & RDLC, including delivering custom, complex software solutions.
- Experience with evaluating and implementing enterprise scale, off-the-shelf software.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to all levels of an organization.
- Effective relationship management, consensus building and influencing skills combined with the ability to “push back” diplomatically on internal stakeholders.
- Detail oriented, with strong organizational skills combined with the ability to recognize how tactical details impact overall project success.
- Ability to effectively identify and mitigate risks before they become project-impacting issues.
- Ability to manage to deadlines and drive efforts to closure.
- Positive, ‘can-do’ approach to problem solving. Strong respect for core firm values such as mutual respect, accountability, intellectual curiosity, and honesty.
