Staff Accountant- Boston, MA
We are seeking candidates for an Staff Accountant position with an industry-located in Boston, MA. This position will report to the Accounting Manager and be responsible for accounts payable, bank transactions, various monthly closing tasks and work closely with the international finance team.
This is a 3+ month contract to hire position that will pay $35-40/hr within a 40-hour workweek.
Responsibilities:
- Process and ensure supplier invoices are processed in a timely manner
- Work with functional areas to answer any questions regarding invoices or purchase orders that apply to their area
- Set up vendors in SAP for France and the US according to internal standard operating procedures to ensure processing of R&D tax credit and DAS2 legal fees can be filed
- Create weekly payments to suppliers and send to bank for payment
- Review supplier statements for accuracy and contact suppliers for invoice copies or discrepancies
- Contact suppliers for any other information as needed
- Download bank transactions daily into SAP
- Provide weekly cash position to Senior Director of Finance
- Complete monthly bank reconciliations and ensure copies of bank statements are saved in appropriate folders
- Complete monthly VAT return
- Prepare files to include all necessary documents to support R&D Tax Credit return
- Complete monthly balance sheet account reconciliations for Accounts Payable, Prepaids and Accruals as assigned
- Complete fixed asset account entries and monthly reconciliations
- File Accounts Payable and Accounting documents
- Other Accounts Payable, Banking and Accounting tasks as assigned under the supervision of the manager
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent required
- 1-3+ years of experience in a similar position, working independently
- Technical skills: accounts payable, cash flow and taxation
- Knowledge of general accounting techniques under French standards
- Mastery of IT tools (ERP accounting software, ideally SAP)
- Proficient in MS Excel
- Strong organizational and communication skills
