Accounting Manager – West Palm Beach, FL – Manufacturing
Job Overview: The Corporate Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing the accounting functions of the organization, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, and managing the accounting team. This role requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to streamline financial processes to support organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting: Manage the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Ensure that financial reports are accurate, complete, and comply with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.

General Ledger Management: Oversee the general ledger activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.

Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts. Monitor financial performance against budget and provide variance analysis and insights.

Compliance and Controls: Ensure compliance with internal policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements. Develop and implement internal controls to mitigate financial risks and safeguard company assets.

Audit Coordination: Coordinate and manage external and internal audits. Prepare audit schedules, provide necessary documentation, and address any audit findings or recommendations.

Team Management: Supervise and mentor the accounting team, including accountants and junior staff. Provide guidance, training, and performance evaluations to support their development and ensure effective team operations.

Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting operations.

Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making. Prepare reports and analyses on various financial metrics, trends, and variances.

System Oversight: Oversee the maintenance and enhancement of accounting systems and software. Work with IT and other departments to ensure systems are functioning correctly and meet the needs of the accounting function.

Special Projects: Lead or participate in special projects and initiatives as needed, including system upgrades, policy changes, and strategic financial planning.
Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience. Experience in corporate accounting and financial reporting is essential.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Advanced Excel skills required.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards. Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
