Accounting Manager – Private Equity – Boston, MA
Our team is working with a leading private equity firm based in Boston looking to hire an Accounting Manager to their growing team. The ideal candidate has 4-6 years of private equity-based accounting experience either at private equity or a fund administration firm, a working knowledge of partnership accounting, & experience managing direct reports.
Responsibilities:

Develop familiarity with the fund partnership agreements for various clients

Obtain a working knowledge of all key systems, primarily Investran Live (accounting system), Salesforce CRM and Intralinks through training with the accounting group

Coordinate investor communication including capital call and distribution notices and capital balances statements for various clients

Input and review investment transactions into Investran Live general ledger system

Prepare management fee calculations, invoices and journal entries for review

Review daily and monthly cash reconciliations for various partnerships and related portfolio companies

Update allocation/waterfall models (quarterly) for partnerships based on the terms outlined in partnership agreements

Prepare the fund financial statements (Statements of: Assets and Liabilities/Partners’ Capital, Operations, Partners’ Capital, and Cash Flow) and other management reporting (IRR performance summaries, investment transaction reports, etc.)

Work alongside the Associate/Senior Fund Accountants (“Accountants”) to provide direction on various projects and inquiries, inclusive of reviewing material prepared by Accountants. These tasks include reviewing general ledger entries, quarterly workpapers, audit confirms, LP requests and other ad hoc material.

Calculate private equity benchmark returns, including gross/net MOI and IRR, along with TVPI, RVPI and DPI

Prepare materials for the interim and annual audit of the fund partnerships for various clients and establish a working relationship with auditors

Manage direct relationships with various clients, including weekly update calls and ensuring agreed upon timelines and deliverables are strictly adhered to
Qualifications:

Ability to build and maintain advanced spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel

Knowledge of Investran Live is a plus

Excellent analytical, planning and organizational skills

Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills with a team approach

Education: BS required. Work towards CPA or MBA a plus
