Accounting Manager – Boston, MA
A longstanding private equity firm with an outstanding track record of investment returns is seeking an Accounting Manager. They currently manage over $10 billion of assets and have offices in Boston and NYC.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is looking to work with private equity, credit and technology fund families.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the team of Senior Accountants and work closely with the Controller, Senior VP and CFO
- Maintain the general ledger and accounting records for assigned fund families
- Prepare or review the calculations and notices for capital calls, distributions and periodic reporting to limited partners
- Prepare or review the quarterly financial statements and supporting schedules
- Prepare account, investment and cash reconciliations as needed
- Manage, monitor, and reconcile outstanding payables and receivables between the funds, management company and portfolio companies
- Monitor investment pipeline and expenses to calculate capacity of the funds
- Liaise with external auditors and serve as a key contributor of the requested support for the funds’ audits
- Assist with the quarterly valuation and reporting process by coordinating with the investment team, valuation associates and portfolio company contacts to compile and review data
- Cross-portfolio reporting, including pitchbook materials
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- 5-7 years of relevant experience in financial services with a leading public accountancy firm, fund administrator or investment advisor
- CPA preferred
- Strong interest in the accounting and private equity industry
- Strong work ethic and high attention to detail
- Experience with eFront accounting system preferred but not required
This role is a full-time, hybrid position (3 days in office/2 days from home). The salary is up to $140k base plus 20% performance bonus.
